“Burnout exists because we’ve made rest a reward rather than a right”

Juliet C Obodo

When is the last time you took time for yourself?

You’re exhausted, frustrated, and having trouble sleeping. You don’t get to bed on time anymore, you can’t remember the last vacation you took, you are chronically overwhelmed and overbooked, and when people tell you to “focus on the bright side” or “just think happy thoughts” you just want to scream. We are so consumed with taking care of everyone and everything else that you don’t normally eat hot meals anymore, you are constantly multitasking to the point that you are literally returning emails while on the toilet. Enough is enough!

It’s draining to continue working at the pace you have been and you also feel stuck, like you don’t have an option not to. Here is what is BS….as grownups we have been taught and expected to do so much, with little time, and do it with unrelenting expectations of perfectionism.

Who made up this damn rule anyway?

Think about it….you are allowed to fail, be disappointed, disappoint others, and not be perfect. Whew, what a relief, right?!? But wait, most of us weren’t raised with this allowance. Instead, we were parentified children, where we spent time raising our parents, taking after our siblings, working hard outside of school to help provide for the household, and we were expected to get it done regardless. This kind of lifestyle leads to workaholics, low self-worth, and instability in relationships, jobs, and even housing. And don’t even get me started on self-care….what the hell is that?

With support from our staff, you can address many of the issues that adults experience today that lead to burnout. Whether it is overwhelm, anxiety and depression, executive functioning issues experienced with adult neurodiversity, reactivity from trauma, struggles in parenting, wounds from toxic relationships, or discord and disconnect from family members our team can help you overcome the complexities of these experiences. WE GET IT! Many of our therapists have experienced versions of all the above, allowing us to be REAL PEOPLE WITH REAL SOLUTIONS.

Let’s work together to change the rules by addressing the following:

Overwhelm
Adult ADHD & Autism
Toxic Relationships
Parenting Struggles
Trauma

We can help you through all this by using many techniques, including:

EMDR
