The Coronavirus has required us to change our interactions.

As viruses continue to spread, it is our duty to mitigate risk as much as possible. We will be closely monitoring the CDC and local guidelines for current risk factors. As a general rule Unity staff will take the following safety precautions:

  • Office seating in the waiting rooms can be situated for appropriate physical distancing
  • Staff members have masks and maintain appropriate social distancing
  • Restroom soap dispensers are maintained, and everyone is encouraged to wash their hands often
  • Hand sanitizer that contains at least 60% alcohol is available
  • We schedule appointments at specific intervals to minimize the number of people in the waiting room
  • We ask all clients to wait in their cars or outside until no earlier than 5 minutes before their appointment times
  • Fidgets, toys, and other areas that are commonly touched are thoroughly sanitized
  • Tissues and trash bins are easily accessed. Trash is disposed of on a frequent basis
  • Common areas are thoroughly disinfected
  • Frequent cleaning and disinfecting of all surfaces are completed within the therapy rooms, play room and waiting rooms
  • Telehealth services are an option for clients if exposure or current symptoms are present. Compromised populations may also utilize this service to reduce risk

If Unity staff and/or any client shows symptoms of a virus, it is expected that sessions will either be moved to telehealth, cancelled or rescheduled. Staff and clients are able to social distance, wear masks, wash hands, use appropriate cleaners, and hand sanitizer to continue reducing risks.

If you have any questions, please refer to the CDC guidelines here and Douglas County requirements here. You can also request further information from your therapist.
