Starting therapy is a big decision, here’s how we can make it work.

Just like any other expense, you need to know that you can afford it. And let’s face it, spending money on yourself is hard because you can probably list ten other things that you need to budget in. With the state of the economy, rising costs, and employment difficulties, it’s not uncommon to have more month than money.

We need to look at therapy less like an expense and more like an investment. And what you stand to gain from this investment is worth more than money. You can reclaim parts of yourself that you’ve lost or maybe never felt you had. And you deserve it.

Each one of our clients receive a high standard of care, where you will feel supported, valued, and encouraged as you grow beyond your current difficulties. Schedule your free telephone consultation now!

We strive for excellence, so you get some added goodies within our care.

You get quality service that includes:

  • Personalized client portal
  • Electronic billing and payment ability
  • Secure messaging
  • Automatic appointment reminders
  • Extended hours
  • Online therapy option
  • Assessments to track your progress
  • Coordination of care with your other providers
  • In-network insurance billing
  • A variety of specialists to serve diverse populations and needs

People have the option to choose if they want to have their insurance billed for therapy, and here’s why:

It is important that you know that all insurance companies require a mental health diagnosis before they will pay for services. This means that you will have a mental health diagnosis on record. Also, health insurance companies may request access to your medical record. Insurance companies can also dictate what kind of care they feel is appropriate and not, in addition to how many sessions they will cover. This could result in the insurance company requiring you to cover your entire therapy bill.

If you use your insurance benefits, it is important to know:

Unity staff is in-network with the following companies: Aetna, BCBS, Wellmark, CHI Blue Print, Nebraska Medicaid (Nebraska Total Care, Molina, and UHC), Midlands Choice, and UHC/Optum. Services will be billed to these companies on your behalf.

Each policy is different, so it will be important that you contact your insurance to know your coverage, out of pocket costs, any limits to services, and what services are covered. You will be responsible for any copay or deductible due at the time of service. Insurance will be verified by your therapist at the beginning of services and yearly after that.

If your insurance company is not listed, services from your therapist may not be covered by your policy.

Your insurance isn’t listed, now what?

It is recommended that you contact your insurance company by calling the number on the back of your card. You will want to verify your out-of-network benefits.

You will be responsible for paying the full fee at the time of service. Your therapist will provide you an invoice , which will show an itemized list of services and rates that you paid at the time of service. This invoice can be provided at each session and you can submit this to your insurance company for reimbursement. We are unfortunately not able to guarantee that your insurance company will reimburse you for your out of pocket expenses.

Cash / Private Pay Rates

If you do not have insurance or wish to pay out of pocket, the following rates will be due at the time of service:

  • Intake Session – $150
  • 60 Minute Session – $125
  • 45 Minute Session – $85
  • 30 Minute Session – $60
  • Play Therapy – additional $25 added to session fee
  • Family/Couples Session – $100
  • Other Professional Services – $150
  • Court (Records Only) – $300
  • Court (In-person) – $200 per hour

The first session, after the FREE 20 minute consultation, is the intake session, which lasts 60 minutes.  Each session following your intake will generally be 30 minutes to 60 minutes, based off of your needs.

Cash, check, and debit cards are accepted. Payments are due at the beginning of each session. Credit card payments are accepted through the Simple Practice system.

Good Faith Estimate – No Surprises Act

Under Section 2799B-6 of the Public Health Service Act, health care providers and health care facilities are required to give client’s who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the bill for medical items and services.

You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your medical care will cost.

  • You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency items or services. This includes related costs like medical tests, prescription drugs, equipment, and hospital fees.
  • Make sure your health care provider gives you a Good Faith Estimate in writing at least 1 business day before your medical service or item. You can also ask your health care provider, and any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule an item or service.
  • If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill.
  • Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate.
